# Study of a Child's Head \(recto\) [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MICHELANGELO Buonarroti]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Black chalk, 235 x 161 mm ## Commentary This portrait was probably drawn from a living model, who could be either a child serving as model in Michelangelo's workshop, or one of the three children of his favourite brother, Buonarroto.
