## Commentary

This tapestry was woven by Karcher after the cartoon by Bacchiacca. Slender herms divide the landscape into three scenes, one for each month. Above each scene is the zodiacal sign for the month. In the background, the buildings from right to left refer to: monks and nuns, the peasantry, and the aristocracy.
