# Ca' di Dio: Façade [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [SANSOVINO, Jacopo]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary The almshouse block known as the Ca' di Dio was rebuilt by Sansovino to house twenty-four poor women for the Procuratia de Supra from 1545. This large complex, founded as early as the 13th century, originally housed pilgrims. The commission for rebuilding required the strictest possible economy.
