## Commentary

The Neuilly castle was the Orléans family&#39;s favourite residence. In 1830, the castle became a royal residence. By 1848, the castle was sacked and burnt during the revolution. In his Vieux Souvenirs, the prince of Joinville recalls his childhood in Neuilly with joy.
