# City Façades of the Rotterdam and Schiedam Gates in Delft

## Commentary

Josua de Grave, who lived in The Hague from 1678 onward, appears to have stayed in Delft for a few weeks in 1695 since he made several drawings of the city&#39;s sights in June 1695. This drawing shows the Schiedam \(on the right\) and Rotterdam \(on the left\) Gates. These gates were destroyed in the nineteenth century.
