# Tomb of the Children of Charles VIII [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [COLOMBE, Michel]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary One of the finest funerary monuments of the period is the tomb of the children of Charles VIII, dated 1506. Its marble sculptures include not only touching effigies of the two deceased youngsters but also infant airborne angels supporting the family coat-of-arms, and reliefs depicting the story of Hercules.
