## Commentary

This engraving was executed by Marco Dente da Ravenna, a follower of Marcantonio Raimondi, after Raphael&#39;s recent painting. In the early 1510s Raphael&#39;s work was beginning to be widely circulated in the form of engravings. These engravings were appreciated also by Titian in Venice.
