# Exterior view [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ARCHITECT, French]() - Date: 1151-1200 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary All the possible types of building and stylistic elements of earlier architecture are combined in the former collegiate church in Saint-Quentin. The builders were happy simply to combine familiar architectural forms and motifs. There is an ambulatory with separate chapels, as at Saint-Remi in Reims, that ends with diagonally placed chapels, as at Saint-Yved in Braine. Not only these models, from before 1200, were adopted. The builders were able to integrate into their designs innovations of a much later date such as those of the cathedrals of Amiens and Beauvais. The photo shows the choir from east.
