- Date: 1551-1600
- Technique: Walnut and oak, partly gilt and painted, 206 x 150 x 60 cm

## Commentary

This is the first known exemplar of a two-door wardrobe, a new conception of furniture derived from ornamental chests, sometimes placed one over the other. The structure of the piece is emphasized by the three torso figures emerging from the casings decorated with plant elements. The doors are ornamented in the upper part with tabernacles containing statuettes, and in the lower part with painted panels featuring the creation of Adam and the murder of Abel.
