## Commentary

The Family of El Greco c. 1605 Oil on canvas, 97 x 51,5 cm Museo de la Real Academia de San Fernando, Madrid This painting is occasionally attributed to El Greco, but now generally ascribed to Jorge Manuel. The painting evinces a number of irregularities of execution that suggest the involvement of different hands. The fact that the painting does not appear in the inventories of Jorge Manuel&#39;s property would seem to speak against its association with the El Greco family.
