# "Fuseau" Vase of Madame Mère [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [UNKNOWN POTTER, French]() - Date: 1801-1850 - Technique: Hard-paste porcelain, height 107 cm ## Commentary The cartouche, painted by Jean Georget after David's famous <A onclick="return OpenOther\('/html/d/david\_j/4/403david.html'\)" HREF="/html/d/david\_j/4/403david.html">Bonaparte Crossing the Alps,</A> displays the ambition of the Sèvres painters to vie with the masters of easel painting.
