# Marriage of the Virgin [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [LORENZO Monaco]() - Date: 1401-1450 - Technique: Fresco, 210 x 230 cm ## Commentary Lorenzo's paintings of events from the life of the Virgin in the Bartolini-Salimbeni Chapel was commissioned by the Bartolini family. They cover an earlier fresco cycle by Spinello Aretino believed to have been commissioned by Bartolomeo Salimbeni in 1390.
