# Cassini [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MOITTE, Jean-Guillaume]() - Date: 1751-1800 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary The marble full-size statue was completed only posthumously, the plaster model had been shown, and praised, at the Salon of 1789: in style as fully 'engaged' a piece of neo-classicism as David's Brutus of the same year.
