## Commentary

The Temptation of Christ c. 1410 Ink on parchment, 120 x 219 mm Musée du Louvre, Paris The drawing illustrates the third temptation of Christ after he fasted forty days in the wilderness. It was originally prepared for a bas-de-page illumination on folio 118r of Cod. Cor. 18 at the Biblioteca Laurenziana. Cod. Cor. 18 is the first part of a four-volume temporale from Santa Maria degli Angeli.
