## Commentary

In this rapid sketch \(schizzo\) Raphael is looking for ways the express the chaos of the guards retreating in panic from the tomb. The figures are not uniformly built up, but in all cases emphasis is placed on their twisting, sprawling limbs, as they respond vehemently to the shock of the apparition.
