Alternative attribution to Cesare di Sesto, another artist in the circle of Leonardo da Vinci, is also proposed. The original concept of the painting derives from Leonardo&#39;s &lt;A onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/l/leonardo/04/5stjohn.html&#39;\)&#34; HREF=&#34;/html/l/leonardo/04/5stjohn.html&#34;&gt;St John in the Louvre.&lt;/A&gt;
