# Virgil: Aeneid [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [SANVITO, Bartolomeo]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Manuscript \(Kings Ms. 24\) ## Commentary This manuscript of Virgil's Aeneid was written in Rome by Bartolomeo Sanvito, probably for Lodovico Agneli, bishop of Cosenza 1497-99. The miniatures were very probably painted by Sanvito himself.
