# The Young Englishman [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [TIZIANO Vecellio]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 111 x 93 cm ## Commentary The Young Englishman c. 1540-45 Oil on canvas, 111 x 93 cm Galleria Palatina \(Palazzo Pitti\), Florence The light colour of the portrayed man's hair and eyes, and the elegance of his pose, led earlier interpreters to think he was a young Englishman, though there is no evidence to confirm this suggestion.
