# The Austrian Saints [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [DÜRER, Albrecht]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Woodcut ## Commentary There is a first edition about 1515 with only six saints; the second edition represents eight saints. The on the extreme right have been added, and have been somewhat carelessly joined on the block. The second edition appeared with Latin verses by Johann Stabius \(historiographer and court astronomer\) in three columns; at the en the date MDXVII.
