# Tomb of Jean d'Humières [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BONTEMPS, Pierre]() - Date: 1551-1600 - Technique: Alabaster, 63 x 189 cm ## Commentary Chamberlain of King Francis I, then of the Dauphin, the future Henry II, of which he had been governor, Jean d'Humières had also been lieutenant-general in Italy, Savoy and Piedmont. At his death in 1550, a tomb was raised in the church of Monchy-Humières \(Oise\), in Picardy.
