# The Battle at Pons Milvius [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [PENNI, Giovan Francesco]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Pen and ink, brush and wash, white highlighting over black chalk, 376 x 851 mm ## Commentary In Raphael's workshop an enormous modello was created for the fresco in the Sala di Constantino. The modello composed of six drawings that set out the compositions for the walls of the Battle and Vision, only three of the sheets remain.
