## Commentary

This painting shows Captain Barrington Price with his favourite hunter outside Beckett House, Shrivenham, Berkshire, with his brother Major Price on the portico; a groom holding &#34;Sailor&#34; beyond. The painting is entirely typical of the painter&#39;s dramatic use of local colour and vivid drawing.
