## Commentary

Verbruggen trained under his father, also a specialist in still-life painting. Typical for Verbruggen&#39;s work is the dense and lively arrangement of flowers. The present canvas depicts a still-life of pink roses, tulips, hyacinths, jasmine and other flowers loosely arranged in a wicker basket, all upon a stone ledge
