In the last decade or so of his life El Greco created a number of life-size, full-length standing Saints - <A onclick="return OpenOther\('/html/g/greco\_el/14/1408grec.html'\)" HREF="/html/g/greco\_el/14/1408grec.html">Saint John the Baptist</A> \(Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco\); <A onclick="return OpenOther\('/html/g/greco\_el/20/2005grec.html'\)" HREF="/html/g/greco\_el/20/2005grec.html">Saint Peter</A> \(El Escorial\); <A onclick="return OpenOther\('/html/g/greco\_el/20/2006grec.html'\)" HREF="/html/g/greco\_el/20/2006grec.html">Saint Ildefonso</A> \(El Escorial\) - which are among the most impressive of his works.
