## Commentary

The picture shows the two lower registers of the altar wall of the Sassetti Chapel. To the side of the altar with the Adoration of the Shepherds, are the donor Francesco Sassetti and his wife, Nera de&#39; Corsi. In the register above is the scene St Francis reviving the Roman notary&#39;s son, with a view of Florence in the background: on the right the Romanesque façade of Santissima Trinita, on the left the Palazzo Spini, in the background the Arno bridge.
