# Caryatids on the Pavillon de l'Horloge [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [SARAZIN, Jacques]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Stone ## Commentary Sarazin returned to sixteenth-century models for his caryatids below the dome of the Pavillon de l'Horloge at the Louvre. These tall figures, skillfully grouped in pairs, were conceived as pilasters.
