## Commentary

John Martin&#39;s vast visions of wrath and jjudgment - unsuitable for any sort of church - had immense public response. However, by the time Martin began his Great Day of His Wrath, his own rendering of the Book of Revelation, in 1851, a Roman Catholic revival had made a real impact on the arts.
