# Rimini Crucifixion Altarpiece [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [UNKNOWN MASTER, Flemish]() - Date: 1401-1450 - Technique: Alabaster, height of cross 226 cm ## Commentary Rimini Crucifixion Altarpiece c. 1430 Alabaster, height of cross 226 cm Liebieghaus, Frankfurt The present group of alabaster sculptures are from an altar executed around 1430 for the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Rimini. The figures have survived, but the framwork within which they stood has not. In the centre stands an unusually tall cross.
