# Victory of Sacred over Profane Love [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [DUQUESNOY, François]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary Duquesnoy arrived from Brussels in Rome in 1618 and was feted by the critics of the day who saw him as the champion of classical ideals.
