## Commentary

The decoration of the Sala del Risorgimento was the last painting project carried out in the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena. The frescoes are by Cesare Maccari and Pietro Aldi \(1852-1888\), the statues and marble busts by Emilio Gallori \(1846-1924\) and Tito Sarrocci \(1824-1900\).
