# Rustic Ewer [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [PALISSY, Bernard]() - Date: 1551-1600 - Technique: Glazed terracotta, height 19 cm ## Commentary This piece is a reinterpretation of a simple form of ewer, of the kind often found in the sphere of goldsmithry, in a manner that the potter Bernard Palissy developed in the middle of the 16th century and that he called <I>rustiques figulines</I> \(rustic vessels\).
