# Royal Gallery [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [GUAS, Juan]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary In Castile, the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella, had developed a profusely ornamented Late Gothic style into a sort of royal mode. Buildings such as San Juan de los Reyes in Toledo, at first planned as a royal funerary church, display the magnificence of this Spanish courtly style.
