# Basket of Flowers [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ARELLANO, Juan de]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 84 x 100 cm ## Commentary During the 1640s, flower paintings from Antwerp and Rome began to be collected in Madrid and, by 1650, Arellano was producing distinctive versions of this pleasing subject.
