# Mont Sainte-Victoire [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [CÉZANNE, Paul]() - Date: 1851-1900 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 73 x 92 cm ## Commentary In old age, Cézanne still tirelessly walked the country around Aix in order to paint the ensemble effect of earth, vegetation and ordinary houses, in a manner at once organic and crystalline. He was particularly fond of painting his revered Mont Sainte-Victoire, towering over the valley as in a vision.
