# Chinese Dance [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BOUCHER, François]() - Date: 1701-1750 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 42 x 65 cm ## Commentary The fashion of "chinoiserie" was associated with Rococo in France, and in other countries including England and Holland, which were major importers of porcelain figures and exotic screens. Lacquered and ceramic objects popularised such motifs, as did tapestries.
