## Commentary

The Daughters of István Medgyasszay c. 1833 Oil on canvas, 60 x 70 cm Private collection István Medgyasszay, a merchant, and his family became the friend of the artist during his years in Vienna. He painted many portraits of the family members, especially those of the children.
