# The Dress Ball Given in Honour of the Dauphin's Wedding [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [COCHIN, Charles-Nicolas I]() - Date: 1701-1750 - Technique: Engraving ## Commentary Despite periods of financial crisis, the output of engravings and tapestries, as well as wall and ceiling paintings, never ceased, recording images of the monarchy's ceremonies and festivities in a noble, allegorical style.
