## Commentary

Carlo Antonio \(Carlantonio\) Procaccini was the third-eldest son of Ercole Procaccini \(1515-1595\), ancestor of a large family of painters. The eldest son was Camillo \(1546-1629\), certainly the most prolific of this artists' dynasty. Ercole's second eldest son, Giulio Cesare \(1570-1625\), was a painter, sculptor and graphic artist. Carlantonio painted mainly landscapes and still-lifes. His Flora follows the model set by Leonardo's Mona Lisa.
