# Exterior view [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ARCHITECT, French]() - Date: 1151-1200 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary The former Premonstratensian abbey church of Saint-Yved served as the burial place of the Counts of Dreux. The building is based on the Cathedral of Laon, and it demonstrates how medieval architects could adapt a great model purely by simplifying it, and in doing so reshape it into something new.
