# The "Surrounding Gallery" at Honselaarsdijk \(detail\) [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [GREBBER, Pieter de]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Drawing, 209 x 580 mm \(entire drawing\) ## Commentary The "Surrounding Gallery" at Honselaarsdijk \(detail\) c. 1637 Drawing, 209 x 580 mm \(entire drawing\) Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam Honselaarsdijk was Frederick Hendrick's country house south of The Hague. The crowning element of the decoration in the banqueting hall \(Great Hall\) was a continuous frieze of figures standing behind and leaning over a stone balcony. It was painted on canvas and set into the coving at the top of all four walls.
