# Annunciation \(detail\) [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [PONTORMO, Jacopo]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Fresco ## Commentary The frescoed figures of the Annunciation belong to the same decorative program as the Deposition. The colours are somewhat deeper than in the Deposition, which may be explained, however, by a severe cleaning performed on during eighteenth century.
