## Commentary

The present painting represents an example of Flemish-style landscapes which were popular in Utrecht and in the area of Delft and The Hague. The general design of the composition dates back at least twenty years in Willaerts&#39;s oeuvre. In this canvas the old painter was assisted by one of his sons.
