# Queen Anne of Hungary and Bohemia [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MALER, Hans]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Oil on panel, 44 x 33 cm ## Commentary Queen Anne of Hungary and Bohemia c. 1519 Oil on panel, 44 x 33 cm Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid Queen Anne of Hungary and Bohemia was initially betrothed to Emperor Maximilian I, although she eventually married his brother, the Archduke Ferdinand, in 1521. A few years later, in 1525, she became Queen of Hungary and Bohemia on the death of her brother without heir.
