## Artwork

- Artist: [SCHÖDLBERGER, Johann Nepomuk](<https://beta.wga.hu/artists/schdlberger-johann-nepomuk-r1b6a8df3dec310>)
- Date: 1801-1850
- Technique: Oil on canvas, 131 x 171 cm

## Commentary

Schödlberger was in Rome in 1817-18, but the two ideal landscapes illustrating the times of the day \(shown here\) were painted in Vienna. They demonstrate that the painter was a student of Claude Lorrain but the influence of the Hackert landscape school can be also observed.
