# Window [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [GOTHIC GLASS PAINTER, French]() - Date: 1301-1350 - Technique: Stained glass window ## Commentary A high point of French High Gothic stained glass is the series of windows in the choir of St.-Ouen Abbey in Rouen. Here the combination of grisaille and colour glazing was developed into the standard technique. The chapels of the ambulatory were given grisaille windows with coloured borders and a central coloured element \(heads, foliage\).
