# Meeting between Innocent IV and Saint Louis [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [LAGRENÉE, Louis-Jean-François]() - Date: 1751-1800 - Technique: Oil on canvas ## Commentary Louis-Jean-François Lagrenée trained under Carle van Loo and was drawn to the work of Joseph-Marie Vien, with whom he participated in the cycle of history paintings for the chapel of the École Militaire.
