## Commentary

This painting is a remake of the &lt;a onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/m/meulen/crossing.html&#39;\)&#34; href=&#34;/html/m/meulen/crossing.html&#34;&gt;composition by Adam Frans van der Meulen,&lt;/a&gt; known in several versions. The composition originally was intended for a series of tapestries but it was never woven.
