## Commentary

Relief from the west side of the Campanile: 1. Creation of Adam \(lower register\) 1334-37 Marble Museo dell&#39;Opera del Duomo, Florence This relief is one of the three scenes from the Genesis in the lower register of the socle on the west side of the Campanile. The Creation of Adam, which begins the series, obviously comes straight from &lt;a onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/g/giotto/padova/decorati/05scenes.html&#39;\)&#34; href=&#34;/html/g/giotto/padova/decorati/05scenes.html&#34;&gt;Giotto&#39;s quatrefoil&lt;/a&gt; representing the same subject in the decorative framework of the Arena Chapel in Padua.
