# Main Portal [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [QUERCIA, Jacopo della]() - Date: 1401-1450 - Technique: Istrian stone ## Commentary In 1425 Jacopo della Quercia accepted a commission for a colossal project of decorating the main door of the church of San Petronio in Bologna, a project that continued well into the sixteenth century.
