# Hungarian Riders [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [SAVERY, Roelandt]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Black, red, blue and ochre chalk, 197 x 320 mm ## Commentary In his period in Prague, Savery drew various kind of people from everyday life, executed in chalk and graphite. Among his studies after life executed between 1804 and 1608 there are twelve pieces representing infantrymen and mounted soldiers. Most of these were Hungarian soldiers in the service of the Habsburgs.
